SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33

Recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of the Pocahontas
County High School forestry students for making a clean
sweep winning the 1995 Forestry Career Development Event at
the 68th FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, November
9-11, 1995.
Whereas, The Pocahontas County High School forestry students
made a clean sweep as a team, ranking one, two, three and four in
the Forestry Career Development Event at the 68th Annual FFA
Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri, this past November 9-
11, 1995; and
Whereas, The Pocahontas County High School forestry
students, taught by Mike Burns, distinguished themselves by
winning all four positions in the individual competition, with
Morgan Dale being first, David Armstrong second, Sam Jackson
third and Lonnie Perdue fourth, an event that had never before
been accomplished; and
Whereas, Pocahontas County High School forestry students
have represented West Virginia at the FFA Convention nine years
out of the last ten years, missing only 1987; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Pocahontas County
High School forestry students for their impressive showing and
ranking in the 1995 individual competition in the Forestry Career
Development Event at the 68th FFA Convention; and, be it

, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the Pocahontas County High
School forestry students and their teacher, Mike Burns.
